Importing and Exporting Data
Import recipients, locations, departments, and team members via CSV — plus export package history for reports and compliance
Bulk facility import
Go to Admin → Bulk Import to set up your entire facility in one step. Upload a single CSV file containing recipients, locations, departments, and team members. Each row uses a "type" column to indicate what it is. The importer validates everything, shows a preview, and lets you review before confirming.
Per-type templates
The Bulk Import page offers downloadable CSV templates for each type individually: Recipients (7 columns), Locations (4 columns), Departments (1 column), and Team Members (3 columns). There is also an All-in-One template with all types combined (13 columns). Each template includes example rows and comments explaining the columns. If you want to see what a complete import looks like, download the Sample Data Sheet — 28 rows of realistic warehouse data you can import directly to test the system.
Importing recipients
Recipients are the people who receive packages — they do not need login accounts. You can import them via Bulk Import or directly from Admin → Recipients → Import. At minimum, include a "name" column. Optional columns: email, phone, employee_id, department, default_location, notes. The importer is flexible with column naming — "Name", "Full Name", and "Recipient" all map correctly.
Importing locations and departments
Locations are the places within your facility where packages get delivered (e.g., Main Lobby, Engineering Lab). Departments help you group recipients (e.g., Engineering, Shipping). Both can be imported via Bulk Import or from their individual admin pages (Admin → Locations → Import, Admin → Departments → Import). Location columns: name (required), building, floor, delivery instructions. Department columns: just name.
Importing team members
Team members are users who log in to the app to receive, sort, and deliver packages. Import them via Bulk Import with columns: name, email, and role (ADMIN, OPERATOR, or VIEWER). Each team member gets a temporary password and will be prompted to change it on first login.
Import tips and troubleshooting
Add locations and departments before recipients in your CSV so that default_location and department references resolve correctly. Save your file as .csv (not .xlsx) — in Excel, use File > Save As > CSV UTF-8. Maximum file size is 2MB (about 5,000 rows). Duplicate emails are detected and skipped automatically. If any rows have errors, the importer flags them in the preview — fix them in your spreadsheet and re-upload. You can also expand the column reference on the Bulk Import page to see exactly which columns are required and optional for each type.
Exporting data
Go to the Reports page and use the Export buttons to download your data as CSV files. You can export package history, carrier breakdowns, and delivery time reports. CSV exports include all package details: tracking number, carrier, recipient, status, timestamps, and delivery location. Data is scoped to your facility — you only see your own packages.
Using exported data
Open CSV files in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool. Use them for compliance audits, management reports, or integrating with other systems.
Tips
- Download the Sample Data Sheet from the Bulk Import page to see the exact format before preparing your own data
- Use per-type templates if you only need to import one thing — they have fewer columns and are easier to fill out
- Add locations and departments before recipients so references resolve correctly
- Bulk import is the fastest way to onboard a large team — especially for campuses with hundreds of recipients
- Exports are filtered by the date range you select on the Reports page
- Export your data regularly as a backup — especially before canceling your subscription
