Scan & Receive Mode
Bulk-scan incoming packages to a staging location without assigning recipients
Overview
Scan & Receive is a high-speed receiving mode designed for large batches. Instead of assigning a recipient to each package as it arrives, you scan barcodes one after another and assign them all to a staging location. Recipient assignment and sorting happen later.
When to use Scan & Receive
Use Scan & Receive when a delivery truck drops off a large batch and you need to log everything quickly. It is also useful when you do not know the recipients yet — for example, when packages arrive at a central dock before being sorted to individual buildings or departments.
How it works
Go to the Receive page and tap the Scan & Receive tab. Select a staging location from the dropdown. Then scan barcodes one after another — each package is logged in RECEIVED status with the staging location set. No carrier, sender, or recipient is required. You can use the camera scanner or type tracking numbers manually.
After scanning
Once all packages are logged, you can sort and assign recipients from the Packages page. Use Sort Mode to organize packages by location, or open individual packages to assign recipients and update details.
Steps
- Go to the Receive page and tap the Scan & Receive tab
- Select a staging location from the dropdown
- Scan barcodes one after another — each is logged automatically
- Use the camera scanner button or type tracking numbers manually and press Enter
- When done, sort and assign recipients from the Packages page
Tips
- Scan & Receive is the fastest way to log a large batch — skip carrier, sender, and recipient
- You can mix camera scanning and manual entry in the same session
- Packages land in RECEIVED status and can be sorted or assigned later
- The staging location helps your team find packages physically before they are sorted
